Known Aircraft: Ju 88D-1 WNr 1334 'M2+CH' (lost)

Remarks: KIA 29 April, 1942 after being shot down on a mission to York by a Hurricane of RAF No. 252 Sq., piloted by Frenchman W/O Yves Mahe'. It's controls damaged, the AC crashed at Crockey Hill, 3.5 miles south of York. Remaining crew (all POW): Uffz Karl H. Kugler, Observer, Gefr Willi Schindler, wireless operator and Gefr Heinz Müller, gunner. The crew managed to bail safely, however, Boy was still on board when the AC crashed.

 Herbert Gange

Known Aircraft: Ju 88 WNr 73045(?) 'M2+AK' (lost)

Remarks: POW 31 July, 1942 during a night attack on Birmingham England. They were shot down by a Beaufighter at 0205 hours, crashing at Hornyold Field, Malvern Wells. The pilot suffered broken ribs after bailing out, the other crewmembers were uninjured. Remaining crew (POW): Uffz Willi Nisch (geb 4/18/20), Observer; Ogefr Heinz Wohlers (geb 6/21/20), R/O and Uffz Walther Sihorsch (geb11/1/21), Gunner. British Crash Report (Secret) on file, along with two pieces of the AC, a valve and a piece of framework.

 Otto Harbich

Units: 1/Kü.Fl.Gr. 106 (Barth)

Awards: Bomber Operational Clasp

Known Aircraft: Ju 88D-1 WNr 1301 (lost)

Remarks: KIC 20 September, 1941 during an operation, when he encountered heavy fog. The AC was heard circlingover Haerup, coming lower with each circle, when a wing touched ground in a field, causing the AC to cartwheel across the field. All four crewmen were killed, one thrown free. Remaining crew: Oblt zue See Hans Helmut Thiele, Observer; Ogefr Hans Joachim Freund, R/O and Gefr Hans Schlegel, a Student Pilot. Remarks: POW 5 May, 1941 after being shot down by a Beaufighter just after crossing the Yorkshire coast. The AC exploded on impact on John Barker's timber yard. Remaining crew (all POW): Oblt z See Reinhold Metzger(Spanish Cross, EK 1 & 2), Observer, Ofw Hans Beeck(EK 1 & 2), wireless Operator and Fw Heinrich Jänichen, gunner. All of the crew bailed safely.

Remarks: His Ju 88 crashed at the Leeuwarden Holland airfield on 8 May, 1942, cause and pilot/crew disposition unknown. (DeSwart)

Known Aircraft: Ju 88A-5 WNr 4386 'M2+AL' (lost)

Remarks: POW 10 July, 1941 after colliding with another squadron AC, Werk # 3245, piloted by Lt Helmut Sinz, in a mist over Speeton, near Filey. This AC was one of three from the same unit, all lost this night due to poor visibility. The AC made a shallow angle force landing in a field without injury to the crew. Remaining crew (all POW): Lt Werner Blome, Observer, Ofw Alfons Wiese, wireless operator and Fw Heinz Riehme, gunner.

Known Aircraft: Ju 88A-5 WNr 2227 'M2+EK' (lost)

Remarks: KIA 10 July, 1941, failing to return from an anti-shipping operation between Whitby and Holy Island. The AC crashed into the cliffs at Staithes, near Whitby, presumably due to misty weather and poor visibility. Remaining crew (all KIA): Lt Rudolf Belloff, Observer, Gefr Gerhard Vogel (geb. 8/17/1917), wireless operator and Fw Karl Kinder (geb. 8/2/1914), gunner. The entire crew is buried in Acklam Road Cemetery, Thornaby.

Known Aircraft: Ju 88A-5 WNr 3245 'M2+CL' (lost)

Remarks: KIA 10 July, 1941 after colliding with another squadron AC, Werk # 4386, piloted by Hptm Heinrich Moog, in a mist over Speeton, near Filey. This stricken AC took off the top of a barn and then the starboard struck the corner of the farmhouse, then struck the ground and disintegrated. Remaining crew (all KIA): Fw Harald Beuting, Observer, Uffz Wilhelm Quodt, wireless operator and Fw Otto Donder, gunner. The bodies of Sinz and his crew are buried in the German Military Cemetery at Cannock Chase, Staffordshire.

 Hilderbrand Voightländer Tetzner

Known Aircraft: Ju 88A-5 WNr 2234 'M2+JL' (lost)

Remarks: KIA 13 March, 1941 after being shot down by a Spitfire of RAF No. 72 Sq., piloted by F/Lt Desmond Sheen. Tetzner's starboard engine was set ablaze and he was seen crashing into the sea about three miles northeast of Coquet Island. On 27 April, 1941, Tetzner's body was recovered from the sea, one mile southeast of the Heugh Light, Hartlepool. He was buried the same day at Acklam Road Cemetery, Thornaby-on-Tees. Remaining crew (all MIA): Ltz.See Rudolf Dietze, Observer, Ogefr Walter Wesserer, wireless operator and Ogefr Hans Vandanne, mechanic.

 Hans Vieck

Remarks: MIA 2 June, 1941 after being shot down off the Tyne during an anti-shipping raid by gunners off the balloon-carrying drifter Marcia. The AC crashed into the sea about two miles southeast of the Tyne's south pier. Remaining crew (all MIA): Oblt z. See Wilhelm Maschmann, Observer, Uffz Gerhard Emmerich, wireless operator and Uffz Walter Börge, gunner.

 Bernhard Winse

Units: 3/Kü.Fl.Gr-106 (Amsterdam-Schiphol)

Known Aircraft: Ju 88A-5 WNr 3422 'M2+DL' (lost)

Remarks: KIA 2 June, 1941 after being shot down off Tyne during an anti-shipping raid along the north eastern coast, by Hurricanes of RAF No. 317 Sq.. With both engines out of action, Winse was forced to make an emergency landing on the sea. Although wounded, Winse was able to get out of the AC, but drowned before rescuers could get to him. Remaining crew: Oblt z. See Hans Berger, Observer (POW), Ogefr Karl Schummer, wireless operator (POW) and Ogefr Heinrich Forstbach, gunner (KIA). Forst bach had been wounded and is thought to have gone down with the AC.
