Photo 01-04: As the war ended the Allies found many abandoned aircraft as in this example of a brand new Mistel S3C captured at Bernberg in April 1945. This combination consisted of an Fw-190A-8 W.Nr 99612433 and Ju 88G-10 W.Nr 460066.

Photo 01: Fw. Fritz Lorbach of 6./KG200 was one of three pilots detailed to ferry the Mistel from Kolberg to Tirstrup on 3 February 1945 when they where bounced by P-51 Mustangs of the USAAF 55th Fighter Group.

Photo 02: A Ju 88A-4 lower Mistel component was caught by USAAF P-51D Mustangs on 3 February 1945 and shot down. The drag of the fighter support structure restricted the speed and maneuverability of the Ju 88 making it an easy kill! (USAF)
