Late-production Spitfire Mark VC, MA859, passes over Fez, Morocco, while on its delivery flight to the Italian theatre. MA859 had been shipped from Britain and assembled by No. 145 Maintenance Unit at Casablanca, from where it was ferried to Italy for service with No. 243 Squadron RAF. The aircraft has not yet been fitted with a tropical air filter.
