Profile 00: P-8103 flown by Dick Rossi of the 1st Pursuit Squadron. A small Chinese roundel was applied under the starboard cockpit ill the same position as the USAAF roundel shown on the port. The shark's mouth is provisional, as no photos of the aircraft with this marking could be found. The shark's mouth applied is the result of several interviews with Dick Rossi, and this rendering received his approval.

Curtiss Hawk 81A AVG 23FG1FS P8187 John Deall 01-03

Photo’s 01-03: Three views of aircraft #6, P-8187, flown by Flight Leader John Deall. Note the mis-matched alignment of the camouflage demarcation line where the wing assembly meets the fuselage. This was due to the way Curtiss painted the aircraft ill sub-assemblies prior to mating them, resulting infrequent non-alignment of the color edges.

Hawk 81A 23FG1PS White 21 P-8182 Greg Boyington China 1942 01

Photo 01-02:Probably the best photo of Greg Boyington's aircraft P-8182. Note the non-standard camouflage pattern all the mid-fuselage, and the faded "21". Some publications have incorrectly identified faded fuselage numbers such as this one as being yellow. No information supporting this theory has surfaced, nor have any A.V.G member interviewed by the author ever recalled any color other than white being used.
