Bordfliegerkommando 1/196 and 5/196 on the light cruiser Karlsruhe

Aircraft facilities and on-board accommodation:

Capacity: The ship can take 2 aircraft on board.

Accommodation: 1. Airplane on the catapult. The 2nd board aircraft can be dismantled and carried below deck.

Centrifugal device: 1x compressed air operated DWK (type FL 22) catapult of 14 m length, 360 ° swiveling (starting area is 70 ° to 100 ° and 255 ° to 285 °),amidships, between the chimneys on a 3.50 m high special structure, installation in Summer 1935.

Takeover facility: 1x lattice crane (replaced by a luffing crane in 1938), port side next to the rear chimney.
