Photo 01: A Me 410A-3 Hornisse belonging to (F)122.2 and coded (F6+OK) W.Nr 10259 was captured intact in Sicily in November 1943. It is finished in the standard camouflage of RML 74/75/76 with a ring oneach spinner painted in red 23, the staffel color.

Photo 02: This side view of (F6+OK) shows how non-descript the RML 74/75/76 scheme appeared, even the national markings have been obscured with a light overspray of grey. When you think about it though it was a Zerstrer unit after all so it didn’t want to sick out like a saw thumb. The white Werk Nummer on the fin is also barely visible. Note it has been applied parallel to the ground line. Note the all white Hudson in the background.

Photo 03: Another view of (F6+OK) shows how non-descript the RML 74/75/76 scheme appeared, even the national markings have been obscured with a light overspray of grey. Note the thin narrow black outline only style crosses on the wing.

Profile 0A: This profile is of a Messerschmitt Me 410A Hornisse originally belonging to 2.(F)/122 and coded (F6+OK) but was captured intact in Sicily in November 1943. It later flew with the RAF in Farnbourough as an evaluation aircraft then eventually ending up in a museum thank god.

Photo 01-05: An Me 410A-2/U1 from 2./FAGr.122 Italy 1944 coded F6+WK was a bomber destroyer armed with two 20 mm MG151/20 cannon and two 30 mm MK103 cannon in the bomb bay. Whilst effective against unescorted American heavy bombers, it was very vulnerable to single engined fighters.
