Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-10 W.Nr.491461, '1-10' of 1 Squadriglia, 1° Gr. C., C., Malpensa, March 1945 Contrary to the agreement of September 1944, 1° Gruppo did not apply German markings to the fuselage sides of its aircraft and carried only the Italian tricolours on fuselage and tail. (See Appendix 4). This aircraft was finished in a standard 75/83/76 scheme with tactical codes and wing markings as shown in Plan View N. Note that, as this machine was a typical late-production G-10 built by Erla, the wings had wide bulged fairings to accommodate the larger wheels of the main undercarriage.

Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-14/AS W.Nr.785x53. 1 of 1° Squadriglia, 1° Gr. C., Malpensa (VA), April 1945. This late-production Bf 109 G-14/AS is believed to have been finished in 81 and 82 on the uppersurfaces but had an obviously repainted area on the fuselage where earlier Luftwaffe markings had been oversprayed. As was usual with aircraft produced during the last months of the war, the lower wing surfaces were unpainted with only the vvingtips and the movable surfaces in RIM 76. The individual aircraft number and the fuselage flag were smaller than seen on other Gustavs of 1 ° Gruppo and suggest the aircraft was one of the last to be delivered to the Gruppo. The fourth digit of the W.Nr.is not known, but wing markings were as shown in Plan View 0.

Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-10 W.Nr.491493, '2-8' of 2° Squadriglia, 1° Gr. C., Vizzola Ticino (VA), May 1945. This speculative profile has been based on the RAF's No.l Field Intelligence Unit's Report No.20 of May 1945 and on what is known about the appearance of 1° Gr.C. Gustavs. The aircraft is a typical Erla G-10 finished in a 75/83/76 scheme and is reported to have had standard ANR markings, an 'Asso di Bastoni' badge on the nose and tactical codes as shown. The wing markings consisted of black fasces on the uppersurfaces and German Balkenkreuze on the undersurfaces.
