Shot down on the August 13,1944 mission to bomb the railroad bridge at Cherisy,France. Hit by flak it peeled out of formation and collided with another B-26 ("Ill Wind" from the 572nd BS), both aircraft broke up and went down. There was only one survivor from either crew, both were from the 573rd Bomb Squadron. I've also read that a bomb from another aircraft hit "Purrin' Panther" and causing the crashes.
