Assigned to 574BS, 391BG, 9AF USAAF. Failed to Return (FTR) bombing mission to Ahrweiler, Germany in B-26 41-35010 'Snakes Revenge' departing the target the formation was set upon by fighters. Dropped out of formation losing oil from both engines, caught fire, went out of control, crashing 3 km NW of Ahrweiler, Germany. 2 x POW, 4 x KIA. MACR 11674.

Shot down by fighters on the December 13, 1944 mission to bomb the railroad bridge at Ahrweiler, Germany. The fighter attacks either killed both pilots or rendered them unconcious, causing the plane to lose control. Only two crewmembers were able to bail out.
