Luftwaffen-Sicherungs-Bataillone

Overview:

All were formed in the Balkans with men from various disbanded Luftwaffe units, which had been partly destroyed during the withdrawal through the Balkans. All had 3 companies for security duties.

Luftwaffen-Sicherungs-Bataillon I

Formed Jan 1945, and saw action in the Southwest (Luftgau XVII).

Luftwaffen-Sicherungs-Bataillon II

Formed late 1944, and saw action in the Southwest (Luftgau XVII).

Luftwaffen-Sicherungs-Bataillon III

Formed late 1944, and saw action in the Southwest (Luftgau XVII). Ended the war operating with the 297. Infanterie-Division in Croatia.

Luftwaffen-Sicherungs-Bataillon IV

Formed late 1944 in Croatia. In 1945 incorporated into the 104. Jäger-Division.

Luftwaffen-Sicherungs-Bataillon V

Formed in 1944 in the Southwest (Saloniki?). Ended the war operating with the 104. Jäger-Division.

Luftwaffen-Sicherungs-Bataillon VI

Formed late 1944, but immediately disbanded. Probably never formed.
