Formed 1 Apr 1936 in Berlin-Gatow as Luftkriegsschule Berlin-Gatow, partly from Kriegsschullehrgang fur Mürwicker Marineoffiziersanwarter.
On 15 Jan 1940 redesignated Luftkriegsschule 2 (LKS 2).
Pilot training ended Oct 1944. From 5 Mar 1945 began training Offizier-Anwartern der Fallschirmtruppe (Parachute officer-cadets) [at least planned]. 12 Apr 1945 redesignated II./Luftwaffen-Ausbildungs-Regiment 1 at Alt-Friedland.
Used the following aircraft: Ar 66, Ar 96, Bu 131, Bu 181, C.445, Fw 44, Fw 56, He 46, He 50, He 51, Kl 25, Kl 35, Kranich, NA-64, W.33 and W.34
