Formed 19 Sep 1939 in Stolp-Reitz as Jagdfliegerschule Stolp-Reitz with 3 staffeln. On 15 Jan 1940 redesignated Jagdfliegerschule 3.

4./JFS3 was formed 10 Apr 1941 in Grove.

On 5 Jun 1941 JFS3 moved to Grove/Denmark, and 9 Jun 1941 became but became JFS3 again on 8 Aug 1942.

On 31 Aug 1942 2./JFS3 became 3./ and was reformed 26 Oct 1942 from 3./

On 7 Dec 1942 redesignated with :

Stab/JFS3 became Stab/JG103
1./JFS3 became 1./JG103
2./JFS3 became 2./JG103
3./JFS3 became 3./JG103

Used the following aircraft: Ar 96, Avia B.534, Bf 108, Bf 109, Bu 131, Fw 56, Fw 190, I-153, Ju 52, NA-57 and NA-64

* 3./JFS3 at Märkisch-Friedland (Mar 1941 - 9 Apr 1941) and Trondheim-Vaernes (10 Apr 1941 - 4 Jun 1941); 4./JFS3 at Grove from 10 Apr 1941.

** 9 Jun 1941 - 8 Aug 1942 as Jagdgruppe Drontheim.
