Formed 1 Sep 1935 in Kaufbeären as Flieger-Ausbildungsstelle Kaufbeären, from 1 Aug 1937 as FFS A Kaufbeären, from 1 Nov 1938 as FFS A/B Kaufbeären. On 1 Apr 1939 attached to now as Schule/FAR.23 (Höh.Fl.Ausb.Kdo 13).

On 1 Oct 1941 redesignated Flugzeugführerschule A/B 23 (FFS A/B 23).

On 15 Oct 1943 redesignated Flugzeugführerschule A 23.

Disbanded 2 Apr 1945, and was used to activate the 10. and 11. Fallschirm-Jäger-Divisions.
