Formed 1 Sep 1941 in Caen from with:

In January 1942 moved to Southern Russia, and was responsible for the entire Heeresgruppe Süd area until May 1942 (with Stab/Flak-Regiments and , when the division became attached to 6th Armee.

Organisation Dec 1942 (HQ Stalingrad):

Most of the division was destroyed in Stalingrad, but part of the HQ was flown out, and the division was reformed 7 Feb 1943 in the Crimea from the remnants, and now controlled:

  • III./8, III./43, I./Lehr-Versuchs-Abteilung FAS, 3./321, 4./850 and 2./728 (also II./43 and Flak-Abt. Rostow for a short time).
  • Sanitäts-Kompanie/9. Flak-Div., Kw.Werkstattzug d. Lw. 4./II, Flak-Trsp.Bttr. 94./XII*, 39./XIII, 92./VI and 125./VI
  • Luftnachrichten-Abteilung 129

Organisation 1 Nov 1943:

Remained in the Crimea until Apr 1944 when most of the division again was destroyed.

Reformed May 1944 - Aug 1944 in the Breslau area with:

Saw action 3 Sep 1944 in the Saarbrücken area, supporting the 1st Armee (Organisation 1 Oct 1944):

and joined the division in Oct 1944.

1 Feb 1945 at Wörsbach and 26 Mar 1945 in Gemersheim. Ended the war in Bayern.
