Formed 1 Jun 1940 in Cambrai for Operation Seelöwe. Remained in France until Sep 1942 (according to one source the brigade was in Dessau and Stuttgart 1941). On 29 Sep 1942 moved to München, and in Summer 1943 became 4. Flak-Brigade.
Organisation 1 Oct 1942:
Stab/Flak-Regiment z.b.V. (Flakgruppe Innsbruck) was activated in (?)Sep 1943.
Organisation 1 Nov 1943:
Stab/Flak-Regiment z.b.V. became Stab/Flak-Regiment 130 in Dec 1943.
On 1 May 1944 redesignated Stab/26. Flak-Division.
Reformed Sep 1944 in Pilsen from Stab/Flak-Regiment 184 (as 4. Flak-Brigade), for air defence in the Pilsen-Brün area.
Organisation 1 Oct 1944:
Stab/Flak-Regiment 88 joined the brigade in Oct 1944.
Moved to Dresden-Mockritz in Nov 1944, now with (1 Dec 1944):
11 Feb 1945 to Pilsen, and took control of all Flak units in Luftgau VIII.
