Messerschmitt Bf-109E JG27.1 (W12+) abandoned North Africa 1941 01

Photo 01: When British troops first found this Bf-109E-7, White 12 of I./JG27, in late 1941, its engine had already been removed but the rest of the airframe was relatively intact and was still standing on its wheels. The remains were then set alight and photographed for propaganda purposes. Eventually, the undercarriage collapsed and the wreck burned out.
