Aircraft's original 74/75/76 scheme has been modified with a random pattern of mottles in 79, 02 and 70 in order to improve its camouflage against the seasonal colouring. An almost identical effect may be seen on this group of Bf-109Fs photographed in a hangar in Russia. Unfortunately, the unit is this case is not known, but 'White 3' in the centre of the picture has a row of white victory bars painted under the-Hakenkreuz on the fin, a position known to have been favored by JG53.
